The Georgia State Constitution (Article VIII, Section I) sets our standard:

The provision of an adequate public education for the citizens shall be a primary obligation of the State of Georgia.

As a graduate of Cherokee County Public Schools (Bascomb Elementary, Chapman Intermediate, ET Booth Middle and Etowah High), Michael is an avid supporter of our public schools. Michael’s wife Katie is a certified PreK-5 Georgia educator having taught in both traditional public schools and a public charter school. Quality education serves as the basis from which the American promise of equal opportunity is cemented, and ensuring that educators have the resources they need and that parents are empowered to remain involved and choose the best options for their children must remain vital priorities for the Georgia General Assembly.
